Last week I visited the International Film Festival Rotterdam. I’ve seen Eighteen, Trash Humpers, Shocking Blue, Au Vie Ranch and Win/Win. Win/Win was really the best movie i saw on the festival. At two movies there was a Q&A with the writter/director who both were very interesting.
This week was also a project week for school. So that’s what’s the movie is about. We had to make a one minute movie about the IFFR. We decided to promote the Tiger Friend membership. Flinke Namen documentary

Recently I’m involved with 4 other people on a project to make a short documentary about Flinke Namen. Last friday we made our first shots at Burgerweeshuis in Deventer. We gonna film this documentary with slr cameras. The vibe was really good and we made some great shots. I also made some pictures backstage and from the performance of Dio. I made a new set on my Flickr for all the photos of this project here on the click. This project probably will take a few months but stay tuned.
New Year’s Eve

From this year new year’s eve I’ve made a 60 second short movie. This is also an assignment for school. I was free to choose a subject for the video so I named the short movie “New Year’s Eve”. The music I used comes from the Menahan Street Band, it’s the song The Traitor. So happy new year and enjoy my first Canon 500D short movie ;)
Portfolio update

The last few days I was busy updating my portfolio website. Tonight I added 2 project again: Sushi Shaped 3D and the Ray Azaria visual where I collaborated with Mischa Loppies (AiCatch). Above you see the typography for the Ray Azaria visual what was my part of the collab. Keep your eyes cause I’m still not done updating ;)

When I came home last night from Arnhem (where I spinnend on the new cdj-2000 yay) I found some awesome shit on the internet. I was just checking the blogspot “what people wear these days” and what? The dude (Amsterdam) has his own sneaker line! And their well designed too, he uses some great materials like leather and suede. He’s says, the sneakers are a “filling piece” between street and haute couture. His blog became a sort of dairy for every progress of the sneaker and he’s all keeping it very transparent like you can see on the pictures above. I’m very curious about the next-level shit in 2010. Because of the transparency I see some opportunities (in my opinion) like a dope shoebox, photography and more who will help this to a real brand. But eh, I think I going to email him to get my shoes. There’s only one problem, what color? Red or black? Or the sand ones?
Kid Cudi — Pursuit of Happiness

You all might know I’m a big fan of Kid Cudi, well here is the videoclip of Pursuit of Happiness. I think this song is the best one of his new album “Man On The Moon: End Of The Day”. Kid Cudi posted this video today on his blog and it was funny to see Drake already posted it yesterday. But if you see the videoclip you know why. For those who wanna know, the video is directed by Josh Hartnett and produced by Brody Baker.

With my new Home/Studio in my head I keep my eyes open for nice pieces of furniture. Design studio NR2103 made this desk for the Danish Arts Council. I like the numbers of boxes for all my books and inspiration! And I want this nice 3D typography too, their in line with the desk!
Everyone loves the Sushi Shaped

Last night was crazy, the Sushi Shaped logo I made in 3D really rocked at HOD! As you can see, the photo above are stills from a film. Yes I filmed a lot with my Canon 500D last night so you can expect the video I’m making for Sushi Shaped very soon! Just give me some time for the editing and diving into the “Sushi Cave” aka studio for music.

Yesterday I started a little project, making the Sushi Shaped logo 3D. The logo is designed with the Shaped typeface. November the 27th will be the first time Sushi Shaped (dj and producer) rocking at a party named HOD so of course they wanted something special for the photos. They finally gonna show us what the’ve made in the “Sushi Cave” aka studio together with the Firebeatz, Ryan Marciano and Sunnery James and maybe his girlfriend Doutzen Kroes. Smart concept

Today’s advertising class was pretty cool. We had a briefing who asks a campaign for Smart with the thought they are environment friendly and don’t need much fuel. The ad I made tells you the Smart can drive a long time with just a little fuel. “Hier ligt een halve kilometer”. I also added 1:30 on the logo (click here for a better look). The teacher liked it and gave me two nines for the concept and execution. The only critic was that the half kilometer should had be more, something like 5 kilometers and yes I think he’s right.
The other part of the lesson Pim Vuik came by. A well-known advertising photographer. His story was really instructive and very inspiring. He told us about him as photographer working with several art directors and how they solve problems in projects.
